Dr. MinKoo Kim received his BSc in Architectural Engineering from Kyung-Pook National University, the Republic of Korea in 2009 and MSc in Civil Engineering from the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) in 2010. He then received his PhD in Civil Engineering in 2015 from KAIST and The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) as a recipient of the Dual-degree PhD programme between the two institutions. Afterwards, he worked as a Research Associate (Mar – July 2015 in KAIST and Aug 2015 – June 2017 in the University of Cambridge in the UK), before joining the BRE in The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. His research interests include sensing technology, automation technology for construction and maintenance of buildings, building information modelling, facility management. Dr Kim is recruiting talented Ph.D. candidates in these areas (but not limited). There are several funding opportunities available for students who wish to do Ph.D. study. Please feel free to contact him with a CV.
