  Dr. Tan is currently a Research Assistant Professor at the Department of Building and Real Estate, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. He obtained his Bachelor Degree (BEng in Civil Engineering) and Master Degree (MSc in Engineering Management) from Southeast University, Nanjing, China. He received his PhD from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University in 2009. He has three years working experience in construction and real estate industry. He is the Council Member of CRIOCM and A.M. of ASCE. His current research interests are competitiveness & strategic management in construction, sustainability in construction, and sustainable urbanization.
