Geoffrey has a proven track record of academic and research leadership in construction management with special interest in value management and collaborative working in construction, supported by information and communication technologies. He has lead a large number of research projects with total funding over HK$25 million including five Research Grants Council-Competitive Earmarked Research Grants in a row since 2002/03, and has authored more than 300 publications including 160+ refereed papers in academic and professional journals. He has been invited to give keynote presentations in a number of international conferences, and has chaired and co-chaired a number of major international conferences. He has also served the scientific committees of many international events.

Professionally Geoffrey is a Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) and the Hong Kong Institute of Value Management (HKIVM). As a certified Value Management Facilitator (VMF) recognised by the Hong Kong SAR Government and a Certified Value Specialist (CVS) certified by SAVE International, he has professionally designed and facilitated more than 40 partnering and value management workshops for a number of large client organisations in both the public and private sectors. In recognizing his outstanding contribution to the value methodology, he was awarded the “Presidential Citation Award” by the SAVE International in the USA in 2009.
