The Mixed Mode gives students a choice of enrolling full-time or part-time. The part-time curriculum enables learning with little disruption to full-time employment of students
A full set of self-study materials is provided for core taught subjects
Face-to-face class contact with teaching staff and fellow students during 3 workshops normally held at weekends of each semester
Credit-based structure enables self-paced study
MSc students
can obtain 30 credits EITHER
by completing 10 taught subjects OR
7 taught subjects + a dissertation
PgD students can obtain 21 credits by completing 7 taught subjects
This programme is accredited by the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB) and the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors in the UK. Graduates from the MSc programme can apply directly to sit for the final professional assessment leading to corporate membership of the institutions subject to their experience requirements.
Two compulsory subjects of the programme have been included in the list of reimbursable courses for Continuing Education Fund (CEF). Hong Kong students completing these subjects successfully (including the necessary attendance) will be eligible to apply for reimbursement of course fees from the government up to a maximum of HK$10,000.
